Four Wedding Planning Tips

You are recently engaged and you now have a wedding to plan! You are excited and can’t wait to get started, but once you do begin to plan you realize it is not as fun as you thought it would be! Wedding planning is essentially a part-time job! If you think about the number of hours you spend emailing vendors, visiting venues, researching Pinterest floral ideas it can add up pretty quickly. Let’s say you spend 4 hours a week and you are engaged for one year, (52 weeks) that is 208 hours! 

You probably already have a full-time job. How will you fit that planning into your schedule? Do you think you have that extra time to devote to planning?   1. Make a Plan – sounds obvious, but plan out your priorities first. What is important to you to have on your wedding day. Think about the three items of importance. Is it the flowers, the entertainment, the food? And focus your search on those items first. And also plan to use the majority of your budget around those items.
  2. Focus on the Why – What is reason for your wedding day? Why are you doing this, other than marrying the love of you life Ask your self is the wedding day for you, your family, your friends? Are you trying to please everyone else? Keep perspective on the reason for the day. Hopefully you will doing this only once, so do it for you.
  3. Keep it Simple – Overwhelm is very real in wedding planning. You will have many choices to make and compromises to make. It is best to keep your options to a minimum and you will be less overwhelmed. 
  4. Wedding planning should be enjoyable too! Don’t think of it as one big stressful planning process. Break it up into bite size pieces and you will not feel as overwhelmed! Is should be a fun process, not a chore.

You have decided to get married, you have decided to have a wedding. Now you need to decide how you will plan your wedding or who help you will plan it.
