Wedding Planning Decisions!

You will have many wedding planning decisions to make, and here are tips on how and when to make them!

Wedding planning and decision-making go hand in hand. If you do not like making decisions, procrastinate, or experience analysis paralysis, you are not alone. We hear from our clients that decision fatigue is real! So what can you do to feel less stressed when it comes to making wedding planning decisions? Well, here are a few tips that will make the decision process easier for you!

  1. Ask yourself this question: Is the item at hand a want or a need? Do you need to upgrade the chairs from the venue, or do you want to upgrade them? There is a difference! Is it in your budget? See, that is already three decisions that have to be made! Remember to start with needs first before you go to the wants! Keep it simple! There are definitely items and vendors that are needed, and then there are the ones that are extras.
  1. Do make a decision quickly and stick to it!! Do not ponder over it and second-guess yourself. Go with your gut instinct. And do not ask everyone for their opinion; this will only compound your decision-making. Yes, you are looking for validation of your choices, but remember this is your wedding, your vision, and your design. Do not feel that you have to do what everyone else is doing! Your wedding is unique to you and your fiancée! So make the choices that reflect the two of you! Don’t copy and paste another wedding!
  1. When choosing a vendor or the meal or the color of your flowers, give yourself only three options to choose from. Any more than that and you will get confused and overwhelmed. Yes, it is fun to go down the rabbit hole of Pinterest and Instagram. But this could be a time waster, and then you will end up not making a decision!  If you see a vendor you like and is in your budget, go with that one. In reality, the pricing might be similar, so it will be a matter of their personality and their portfolio that will determine if they are a good fit for you!
  1. The sooner you do it, the better you will feel!  Do not procrastinate! The good vendors get snapped up quickly. Book them as soon as possible! Get items checked off your list as soon as you can! The checklist will dwindle, and you will not be overwhelmed as your wedding date approaches. Yes, it takes time, and it is a major planning process, but it can be done easily and actually be enjoyable. Especially if you have a professional wedding planner in your corner guiding you and providing you with insight that you do not know!
