The one vendor I see couples overlook is the wedding videographer. I hear from couples that they will not watch the video. But that is not the case. You will watch it! Once your wedding day is over you will want to relive it again. Most couples tell me after the wedding, “I wish we could do it again”. And you can when you have a video to watch for years to come!
You’ve got your photographer booked right away, and possibly already taken your engagement photos. That is wonderful! Those still images will be cherished for generations to come. But think about this: can a photograph convey the emotion in your voice as you and your partner read your vows? Can it replay the tears falling down your father’s face as he sees his little girl dressed up and ready to begin a new chapter of her life? Or the laughter during your best man’s speech, or capturing your well-rehearsed first dance? Unfortunately, the answer is no! That is where the magic of a wedding videographer comes in.
Think of your wedding day as your love story unfolding. Your photographer captures the stunning snapshots, the details, and the key moments. But your videographer? They bring those scenes together, adding the soundtrack, the movement, and the very essence of the day. They capture the fleeting moments you might otherwise not remember – your grandmother’s smile, your guests showing off their dance moves, the way your partner’s hand finds yours.

We recently asked Felix Wedding Films, based in Atlanta, Georgia, to answer a few questions about their work and why couples should book a videographer. I hope this will help you as you are considering booking a videographer for you wedding day.
1. When did you start your business?
Angelo began capturing weddings around 2019—possibly even earlier—after years of experimenting with a camera in hand. I (Gracie) started filming weddings alongside him in 2021 and officially joined the team once we got married. Not long after, our incredible teammates came on board—fun fact: one of them even filmed our own wedding! It’s been such a joy to grow the business together and continue expanding our team of passionate, talented creatives.
2. Why did you start your business?
Felix Wedding Films began because Angelo has always had a camera in his hand. Since he was 15, he’s had an eye for beauty and creativity, and he was always looking for unique ways to capture the world around him. As time went on, video began to capture his interest—specifically the way it could tell a story and evoke a certain feeling that photos alone couldn’t. He started with small promo projects, filmed a few friends’ weddings, and was hooked. Once he really dove into the wedding world, it piqued my interest too. I quickly found that I loved filming, but I loved even more than just filming—I loved the business side: responding to inquiries, chatting with couples, building out our social media, and creating systems to keep everything organized. I went full-time with our business in early 2023, and Angelo followed less than a year later. It’s been an amazing journey that keeps growing in the most meaningful ways.
3. What do you love about your business?
There’s so much we love about what we do. Getting to work alongside incredible vendors and make lasting friendships is a huge bonus. We also love being with couples and their families on one of the most important days of their lives—it’s an honor we don’t take lightly. Our favorite part, though, is knowing that the films we create are more than just beautiful videos—they’re a way to preserve once-in-a-lifetime memories. While we’re proud of the look and feel of our work, what makes these films truly priceless are the moments they hold. It’s the emotion, the relationships, and the people our couples love most, all captured forever.
4. What is your favorite part of the wedding day?
Some of our favorite moments to film are the ones with deep emotional weight—parent first looks, first dances, and parent speeches. We also love capturing the first look and private vows between the couple. These are often the most genuine, tender moments of the entire day.
5. What should couples know about videography for their wedding?
Your wedding film is more than something to post on social media. It’s a way to relive your memories—your voices, your loved ones’ voices, the way they move, laugh, and cry. One day, when those people may no longer be with you, these films will be how you revisit those moments. Imagine hearing your mom’s voice as she zips up your dress, your dad giving an emotional toast, or your grandparents slow dancing at your reception. These memories are too special to miss—and preserving them on film is truly one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
6. When should couples book you for videography?
Ideally, 9–12 months out is our sweet spot. Some couples book earlier and some later, but we always recommend booking sooner rather than later—many filmmakers book out a year in advance.
7. How many weddings do you book a year?
We have an amazing team, but Angelo and I personally aim to film one to two weddings a month. This allows us to give our full attention and creative energy to each couple we work with.
8. What is the most important advice you can give couples about videography?
First—definitely hire a filmmaker! Look for someone who is not only talented but kind, collaborative, and easy to work with. It makes a huge difference when your videographer works well with your photographer and fits seamlessly into the flow of the day. And don’t stop at just a short highlight film or Instagram reel—invest in the full moments. Our most cherished films from our own wedding are the full-length edits: the speeches, the ceremony, the private vows. If you’re having a rehearsal dinner with toasts, capture that too. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments, and having them preserved is absolutely worth it.
9. How can potential couples find you and what is the best way to contact you?
