Every bride dreams of a perfect wedding day complete with flowers, cake, music, food and beverages for their guests to enjoy. However with so many moving parts on a wedding day the idea that some detail might fall through the cracks should not be ignored. Yes, it would be wonderful if there were not any unexpected issues, but as seasoned wedding planners, we know that something might go awry. So we must be prepared and do whatever it takes to remedy the situation if something unplanned happens.
Whether it is a big as an outdoor ceremony that needs to be moved inside a rainy day or something as small as a button that needs to be sewn back on the groom’s tuxedo, our team is there to handle the issue with professionalism, calm and ease.
For Libby’s Wedding day, at The Estate in Buckhead, Georgia, we experienced an unexpected issue with her wedding dress zipper. It decided to break right after she had her first look with her bridemaids! The long zipper on the back of her dress came apart and needed to be fixed immediately.
Our experienced team jumped right into action with the sewing kit that was keep our emergency kit! I did not feel that the issue could not be resolved. The Gloria Schulz Events, Associate Planner, Christa started sewing the zipper back in place with a needle and thread. We were ahead of time with our schedule, so we knew whe had plenty of time to sew it back into place.
However, it was a very tedious process and Christa had to be very meticulous with her sewing skills. Libby had to stand still for quite some time while Christa sewed Libby into her wedding dress! Fortunately, Christa has had years of experience with sewing and she previously worked in a bridal boutique. And by sheer coincidence this was the same bridal boutique where our bride Libby had bought her prom dress years before!
Libby was feeling emotional about the situation and our team was at right there at her side to provivide the support she needed! The Gloria Schulz Events Bridal Concierge, Rachel was able with LIbby to fan her as she got hot, gave her water when she was thirsty and told her it was all going to be okay and that we would take care of it for her.
We were able too stay on schedule and thanks to our experienced, diligent photographer, Laura Watson. We were able to get all of the photos taken, that were scheduled to be taken, before the ceremony. Laura’s calm attitude along with her expertise, kept the photo schedule going smoothly. Because of Laura’s expertise, we were able to start the ceremony on time. None of the guests had any idea there was a major issue that we handled and that a crisis was avoided!
You could not even tell that anything happened to Libby’s dress because Christa masterfully sewed it back together! I know that every wedding day will not be perfect. However, with the Gloria Schulz Events experienced team managing the wedding day, we will do what ever it takes to make to manage any issue that may arise.
