Ivy Hall & Roswell Mill Club Wedding Venues, Roswell, Georgia

Gloria Schulz Events, Wedding Coordinator in Atlanta, Georgia, chatted with Linda Petsis, Account Manager at Events Catering based in Roswell, Georgia to find out more about their wedding venues, the Roswell Mill Club and Ivy Hall. Located in the historic downtown area of Roswell, Georgia, this was the site of a textile mill founded in the 1800’s. These mills were destroyed by fire during the Civil War and were rebuilt again in 1864. The mills remained operational until the 1970’s.

April and Craig Bloomer have owned their catering business, Events Catering since 1987 and they began managing the two venues at Roswell Mill in 1991. Linda began working at the company in 2004 part-time as a bartender and then as a captain and in 2008 she began the position of Account Manager. We have had the pleasure to work with Linda, April and Craig and we wanted to give you some information about their venues, catering and their services.

A favorite wedding venue in the area, Roswell Mill Club and Ivy Hall host over 110 weddings per year. Known for its rustic charm and feels, Ivy Hall has exposed wooden beams, bistro lighting, and an outdoor patio and deck overlooking which provides beautiful views of the Chattahoochee River. Roswell Mill Club has an outdoor deck used for wedding ceremonies and large indoor event space with a large bar and wall of windows facing the river. These rustic elements are what draw couples who tend to be the outdoorsy type and love that rustic feel. A lot of the couples who choose either of these venues, grew up in the area, but have moved away and decided to return to their hometown to get married!

What advice would you give to engaged couples? The staff at Events Catering provides in-house coordination and they pride themselves with the fact that they will have a lot of hands-on deck for you, providing you with exceptional service. However, they suggest hiring a Day of Coordinator if you have additional details incorporated into your wedding day or need help with extensive set up on your wedding day. And they recommend that you do not ask your family or friends to be your Day of Coordinator. They may not be aware of how the process of the day works. Through experience, Events Catering knows the ins and outs of a wedding day, as do the wedding professionals who you have hired. They are all knowledgeable and prepared if any issues should arise on the day of your wedding, and they know best how to resolve them!
