Wedding Day Details

You booked the venue, you have the vendors and now what comes next in the wedding planning? All the little details. The most often phrase we hear from our couples is that they are concerned about forgetting all of the little details. They don’t want something falling through the cracks. There are things they have not even thought about yet. So what are all of those little details? And why do couples stress over them? Well, I can tell you from experience that we know what they are when they can cause our couples undue stress. Here we will give you a list of the little details and when we recommend you cross them off your to do list!

Proscrastinating choosing your Wedding Songs – There are songs you need to choose for the Cermony, including the wedding party processional, your processional and the recessional. At the reception there are songs for the wedding party introduction, newlywed introdution, newlywed first dance, and the parent dances. Believe me this is harder than you think it is! Narrowing down song choices is not easy, and parents want a say for the song they want to dance with you! Start thinking about this from the get go! And complete it by two months out. And if the band/ceremony entertainment needs to learn a song, let them know at least three months out.

Writing Your Wedding Vows – Do you want to make him cry? Set aside a rainy day for this as this can be very time consuming. Start writing these about four months out.

Creating The Photographer’s Photo List – What photos do you want to be captured? How much of your extended family do you want to have in photos? What detail photos do you want? Have this list completed by two months out. Your photographer will be asking for it the last month, so have it ready to go!

Making Guest Seating Assignments – Who will sit next to Uncle Vinny? This takes careful planning to get the correct number of seats filled at each table. And keep family and friends together where they know each other! Our couples have told us this is the hardest part of the planning. Start working on this about six months out. Even though you won’t have your RSVP’s back yet, it is very easy to delete names than to add them. Plan to have it completed one month before your wedding. This will save you from having a meltdown during the last busy month of planning!

Purchasing Personal Decor (this includes day of stationery) think welcome sign, bar signs, table numbers, ceremony programs, escort cards. Other personal decor could include items like your guest book, pens for the guest book, a box for the wedding cards, toasting flutes, grand exit items, favors, photos of family members, your engagement photos, matches, personalized napkins and cups, polariod cameras, etc.The list is endless! Make this list at least two months before the wedding. Make sure to label all of the items and where you want them placed at the reception and place them in a large storage bin.

You see now how all of these little details add up! So I recommend during the down months of wedding planning, which is about 6 months out, to start to take care of these checklist to do items! You will save yourself time, overwhelm and stress! The sooner the better! Remember it is never too early to take care of these little details. The last three months before your wedding the wedding planning ramp up, with the last month being extremely busy. So if you want to enjoy your wedding planning, and not get stressed about these details, just follow our timeline recommendations!
