Swan House wedding venue holds a special magic time and time again. As an award winning, published wedding planner with an experienced team based in Atlanta, Georgia, whenever a wedding couple comes to us with a dream of a wedding at the Historic Swan House, I jump at the opportunity to plan their wedding day. This popular venue has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places and provides four options for beautiful ceremony and reception spaces for weddings. If you are perusing the many pictures of the Swan House Gardens, you may find the look of the house and stairs quite familiar. As the site for many weddings, the Swan House was also featured in the popular Hunger Games films and the final destination in the Amazing Race season 11.
Looking back on some of the weddings my team at Gloria Schulz Events have planned and created, I fondly remember Tricia and Michael’s. Tricia reached out to me with a vision of her wedding at the Swan House Gardens. She knew what she wanted, but was not sure how to plan it on her own. That’s where we came in.
Swan House Wedding Planning Made Easy
At our first Zoom planning session, we created a plan for assembling a dream team of vendors who could provide the services that our couple requested. I can still smell the gorgeous floral arrangements provided by Flowers by Yona when looking back on the photo Haley James Photo captured of the Swan House Garden ceremony. Beautiful combinations of white roses and baby’s breath cascaded down the stone steps and along the side of the fountain. Highlighting the elegant, timeless, classic feel Tricia dreamed of.
The Boxwood Gardens was the location for the First Look for Tricia and her father. It was a beautiful spot as her Father had to wipe away his tears. She also had a sweet First Look with her son Leo in the gardens and I was so moved by seeing his huge smile and watching her give him a hug.
After the wedding vows, our team ushered their guests around the house to the large oval lawn in front of the columned side of the historic house to enjoy cocktails, delicious appetizers prepared by Proof of the Pudding catering. Mellifilous music was played by the Cobalt Strings Trio. During this time Tricia and Michael, who chose not to have a first look, entered the historic home for photos. They also roamed the from the beautiful gardens to the beautiful fountain steps with their photographer, Haley James to capture moments that would create memories to last a lifetime.

I love to work with the professional event team at the Atlanta History Center because they are detailed orienented, have prompt communication, and super helpful with advice during the planning.Our team collaborated with the Atlanta History center by diligently followed the meticulous timeline and ushering guests from the cocktail hour to the Atlanta History Center Grand Overlook ballroom for the fun wedding reception.
To prepare for the guests arrival, the Gloria Schulz Events team placed personalized menus at each placesetting, set up the guest book table and cake table. The wedding cake was created by Cake Envy in “Lambeth Style” and is similar to a Bridgerton style. See the photo below. I think it was the most beautiful wedding cake I have ever seen! Every personalized detail that Tricia requested for her wedding reception was set up by our team. The Grand Overlook ballroom was designed and decorated to provide a classic and timeless wedding reception feel. The focal point was the long estate table for the wedding party which included an abundance of beautiful, white flowers and baby’s breath runner centerpiece, created by Flowers by Yona. The estate table was accented with white candles to create a classic, romantic, timeless look that Tricia loved.
Guest tables decorated with gorgeous floral arrangements and candles surrounded the black and white checkered dance floor. Radial Entertainment provided DJ music for the dinner hour and added a saxophone player to the mix for a fun dancing experience! I thought that it all came together so beautifully and captured the essence of Tricia and Michael’s love story.
With our recommendation, Felix Wedding Films was hired to capture the classical and timeless wedding day. Knowing that Tricia and Michal would be able to look back and watch their special day that included their personalized details was an important element that I did not want them to miss.
